Teck-Explore International has established and incorporated as a private company in Sri Lanka in 2010 aiming to offer NDT services to industrial and heavy engineering utilities with fast response and highest quality service using state-of the-art technology. Provision of Training in practice and theory of NDT technology for technicians is our next goal.
We also aspire to promote NDT among small and medium scale industries to help improve their safety and reliability of operations and improve overall quality of production.

Ultrasonic Scanning
For detection of internal defects in welds, cast products and other structures, machinery and components, ultrasonic scanning is recommended.
Equipment called ‘Ultrasonic flaw detector’ is used in this process. Detecting reflected signals of Ultrasonic waves from internal defects is done by this machine.
Magnetic Particle Testing
To detect surface cracks and near surface discontinuities, often occur during usage (in-service) of machinery, this is the fastest way to detect cracks in welds, engine components and other heavy fabrications. Versatile for tight schedules in periodic overhaul maintenance of power plants etc.
Detection of flux leakage from defects in electromagnetically magnetized components is the theory of this test.
Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging
Measurement of remaining metal thickness and estimation of corrosive wear of pipe lines, penstocks, oil tanks, gas storage vessels, Ship hulls etc. This is very useful in safety assurance of boilers and pressure vessels.
Transmission of ultrasound pulses into the material and measuring the time taken to bounce back the echo from inside is the method of Ultrasonic thickness gauging. Touch of only outer side of a vessel is sufficient for this measurement.
Liquid Penetrant Testing
This is a method of visual enhancement in detection of surface breaking cracks in various components and materials like Boiler mounts, tubing & baffle plates, welds in oil tanks gas tubes and various machine parts.
Infiltration of deep coloured dye or fluorescent pigmented liquid into a crack or defect, and then development of it into a visible indication is the process of this test.
